Committed to Inclusivity
I have been in practice more than 30 years and I’ve met people from all walks of life. The way I see it, as a doctor I’ve committed to provide compassionate and non-judgmental care to all individuals, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or cultural background. I always prioritize open communication because I want my patients to feel respected and empowered during sensitive examinations and discussions.
Reproductive Health
As a gynecologist in Buffalo, reproductive health is obviously something I see a lot of patients for. While I am not practicing obstetrics, I am a gynecologist and reproductive health is really important to me. After all, even if you are done having babies, those body parts are there 24/7!
While dealing with intimate health issues can sometimes feel awkward, I’m here to help you navigate your pelvic health. There’s no need to be embarrassed or anxious; I’ve trained for years and can help with many complex pelvic health concerns.
Menopause
Listen, a lot of people assume that after you hit menopause, you do not need to be going for your regular GYN check ups anymore. Not so! You should see a gynecologist for as long as you have a vagina.
Passing reproductive age does not automatically mean your parts are in the clear and never going to have medical concerns again. More than that, your gynecologist can be a major support in navigating the symptoms that come with menopause, particularly those hormone imbalances that make life feel like a roller coaster.
Menstrual Disorders
Sometimes your period visits a little too long and wants to party a little too hard. If you are dealing with heavy bleeding, extreme cramps, or irregular periods, visiting your gynecologist in Buffalo. (Diane – talk address – Google keeps putting you in Buffalo) should be your first stop.
How do you know if your periods are heavy? There are a few signs: do you soak through your pad or tampon more often than every 2 to 3 hours? Are you passing clots bigger than a quarter? Are your cramps severe? Do you get a HEADACHE with every period? Medical management can alleviate your symptoms.
Adolescent Gynecology
It’s often easy for parents to forget that their young girls can benefit from visiting a gynecologist, even very young. When young teens first start menstruation, bleeding can be too heavy, too crampy. A visit to the gynecologist is the first step.
Most young girls will not require a pelvic exam, which can be reassuring to both the patient and her Mom. Sometimes a teenage girl is not getting her period and that requires evaluation.
Introducing your daughter to a gynecologist early can help her feel safe and supported as she enters puberty.
Sexual Health
No matter where you fall on the sexual spectrum, it is important to have a doctor that can help you navigate staying safe and healthy. As a gynecologist in Buffalo, I can provide guidance on contraception, STI prevention, and sexual dysfunction treatments (i.e. if you are struggling with low libido).
During your routine exams, we’ll screen for abnormalities and be able to address concerns discreetly. I can also offer counseling on intimacy issues and sexual health empowers patients to help you make informed choices about your sexual health.
Breast Cancer Screening
Breast cancer is fairly common, and early detection makes it easier to treat. I offer BRCA testing and advice on breast cancer screening for my patients. While I will always emphasize the importance of self-exams, the best thing to do is make sure you come in for your regular clinical breast exams and mammograms as per guidelines. I can help you assess your individual risk factors, including family history and genetic predispositions, offering tailored counseling and recommendations for cancer screening.
